John Ronald Bocek passed away peacefully on August 11, 2020 surrounded by family at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.
He was born to John Joseph and Rose Margeret (Kawulok) Bocek March 30, 1943. John attended the local schools, later enlisting in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his time from 1961 to 1967 in Alaska. Afterword he worked construction for a short time, then moved back to Sheridan where he worked for Mullinax Irrigation Company and took care of the ranch where he grew up.
Later in life John married the love of his life Annie Rockafellow who preceded him in death. Two of the biggest joys in John’s life were fishing with his son Darrell and attending Polka Festivals with
his wife Annie. John enjoyed a simple life that was filled with hunting, photography, taking care of his garden, riding his 4-wheeler, working on his land, and visiting with family and friends.
John is survived by his three sisters, Patricia Brantz, Rosemary Davis, Kathleen Hallworth, husband Jim; his children Darrell Bocek, wife Wendy, Charlene Bocek, husband Mark, Wayne Bocek, wife April, and Lisa Maney, husband Shawn; and his two grandchildren Orion Moffett, wife Darby, and Kalie Bocek. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to say their goodbyes to John at a viewing Thursday, August 20th from 6 -7pm at Kane Funeral Home (inside), and at graveside services Friday, August 21st at 10am in the Elks Cemetery (chairs are provided). A reception will follow under the tent at Kane Funeral Home.
