Deanna Brenden

Deanna Brenden, age 72, of Sheridan, WY passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family.

Deanna was born August 20, 1947, in Grödig, Austria to Elmer H. (Bud) Werbelow and Elizabeth Lydia (Elsie) Werbelow. After her parents were married and at the end of WWII, they traveled to America by ship in June of 1948 arriving in New York City. Her family lived in Emblem, WY for most of her childhood and she graduated from Greybull High School in 1965. Deanna also attended Billings Business College and with her knowledge she pursued a lifelong career as a secretary for several different organizations including Hilltop Recovery, Farmer’s Elevator, the State of North Dakota, and Cindy Pilch CPA.

Deanna married her first husband Jerry Phillips on February 4, 1967. They moved to Missouri where her son Lance was born. After working for a few years in Missouri, they returned to Cody, WY in 1976. In 1978 Deanna then moved to Kremlin, MT, and married her second husband Curt Brenden on May 31, 1980. They lived together in Homestead, MT until they moved to Williston, ND, and then later moved to Sheridan, WY in 2002 to be closer to her grandkids. Deanna enjoyed attending her craft shows, bowling, traveling, and attending all of her grandchildren’s events.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Werbelow and Elsie Werbelow, both of her husband’s Jerry W Phillips and Curtiss L Brenden.

Deanna is survived by her son Lance of Sheridan; four brothers John (Jenny), Ken (Kathy), Ray (Marie) and Pat (Lana); her grandchildren, Courtney, Eli and Ayden, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Deanna will be laid to rest with her husband on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at Homestead Cemetery in Homestead, MT.
