Al Hoffman

Graveside services for Al Hoffman, 92-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Thursday at the V.A. Medical Center in Sheridan, will be held Thursday, April 17th at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery with Pastor Anne Knighten officiating.  The American Legion and VFW will be in charge of military graveside honors. Visitation will be Wednesday Monday at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until noon.  Donations in Al’s memory may be made to Little Big Horn Chapter of Trout Unlimited at P.O. Alfred Roger Hoffman was born on April 19, 1932, in Englewood, New Jersey to Alfred and Emma Hoffman.  He grew up and went to school in Little Ferry, New Jersey.  After school, he joined Northeast Carpenter’s Union

and spent his life as a carpenter in New Jersey. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Korean War.  Following an honorable discharge, he returned to New Jersey.   He moved with his parents to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1973 where he was a handyman carpenter for many years.  After retirement, he continued to live in Buffalo until his death.

Al was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting.  He was a very prolific artist and enjoyed doing his own taxidermy. He loved grouse hunting and shooting skeet. His favorite fishing holes were Lake DeSmet, Muddy Guard and Healy Reservoir. He is survived by many friends in Buffalo, including the Dave Todd family and special friends Dolly Iberlin of Buffalo and Christy and Jon Stauffacher of Gillette.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
