Patricia Healy

Patricia J. (“Patsy”) Healy passed away peacefully at the Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan County, Wyoming on April 2, 2025, following an extended illness.
Born in Worland, Wyoming on March 2, 1942, as the first child of Army Captain Stuart S. Healy and Martha Moss Healy (Nee Mahoney). Patsy moved to Casper with her mother and her brother, Stuart S. Healy, Jr. following the death of their father in April 1944.
Patsy grew up in Casper and attended local schools there, including St. Anthony’s Grade School. She graduated with honors from Natrona County High School in 1960 after participating in numerous school activities, including drama club and student council. She completed her formal education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she obtained both her bachelor and master’s degrees in English and Education.
After teaching for several years in Denver, Patsy relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where she was able to be near her brother, Graham P. Stewart, and where she taught high school English and Drama.
In 1979 Patsy returned to her native and beloved state of Wyoming to be near her brother, Stuart, and his family. After working in several employment positions in Sheridan, Patsy took a job as an “up front” cashier and check-out employee at Walmart.
A devout Christian, Patsy would often say that this is where God intended her to be. Many people here who were happy to stand in her customer line longer than necessary did so just to see her smiling face and hear her heart-felt greetings by personal name and family remembrance.
Patsy was a longtime member of Sunrise Assembly of God church. She served faithfully over the years, wherever needed. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School and participating in Bible studies and prayer groups.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Services will be at the Champion Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan on Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m.
With a reception to follow in the Champion Kane Reception Hall.

Patsy was such a caring and giving person. I worked with her at Carl’s IGA and she let me stay at her house when I didn’t have anywhere to go.

Stu, Noreen, and family, my heartfelt condolences. Patsy was a gem, and I am one who would choose her checkout line, even if there was a quicker one available. She always put a smile on my face.
Rest in Peace…

I had the pleasure of taking care of her dog’s medicine at Pharmacy. She really loved her dog. Her sweet spirit was evident whether I saw Patsy in Pharmacy or the Walmart checkout line. She was an unforgettable soul. Now her joy is complete in heaven. A life well-lived.
