Nancy Livingston passed away on December 10, 2024, at Green House Living of Sheridan. Nancy (Ralston) Livingston was born June 3, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to Ruth Reed Ralston and John Wertz Ralson. When John joined the Navy during World War II, Nancy and her mother, Ruth, moved in with her grandparents, Pastor Oliver and Nora Reed, in Sheridan, where she resided until the age of two. Thereafter, Nancy was raised in Eaton Rapids and Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek and Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in Flint, Michigan. She also attended Cornerstone Bible School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During her nursing career, Nancy worked in hospitals in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, and Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Casper and Sheridan, Wyoming. Nancy moved to Sheridan and married Edward Livingston on September 30, 1972. Nancy retired from nursing to raise her family. Nancy’s favorite part of her nursing career was helping to deliver babies and caring for them in the nursery. In her later years, she was known as “Granny Nanny” to many children whom she loved and babysat.  One of Nancy’s biggest passions was playing the piano; her specialty was playing hymns. She also loved quilting and gifted her special creations to her friends and family. She was known to be a master quilter.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, and her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Margot and Wayne Foote of St. Ignace, Michigan. She is survived by her daughters, Ruthie and Rachel of Sheridan, and her son, Jamie (Cindy) of Cabool, Missouri. Nancy was especially fond of her only granddaughter, Madi, also of Sheridan. She is also survived by the “Five J’s,” her special Michigan nieces, and their families: Judy, Janet, Jeanne, Jacque, and Jessica.

The family is especially grateful to Green House Living and all the loving staff who assisted in caring for Nancy, and to the many friends who visited her. Nancy loved deeply and will be deeply missed. A special gathering will be announced to her friends and family at a later time. Online condolences may be made to www.sheridanfuneral.com. Arrangements are under the care of Sheridan Funeral Home.
