Laura Agnes Trollan Robertson, 98, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 12, 2024, at Westview Health Care Center. She was born January 17, 1926, to Joseph and Myrtle Trollan in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Laura grew up on the family homestead near Leiter, Wyoming with her parents, sister and brother. She attended high school at St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, Nebraska, and graduated in 1944.
Laura met her husband Ray Robertson in 1945 after the end of the war, and they were married June 4, 1946. Laura and Ray moved to Fresno, California in 1947. In 1950 the couple returned to Wyoming and worked with Laura’s parents at Joe’s Place, a motel/restaurant/post office/general store in Leiter. In 1953, they moved back to California. Son Daniel joined the family in December 1957. In 1959 the three moved back to Leiter to buy Joe’s Place when Joe and Myrtle decided to retire. In 1966, they bought their ranch at Clearmont and where they worked under the family brand 3R. They sold Joe’s Place in 1972 and sold the ranch in 1977 and retired. Following retirement, Laura and Ray traveled in Arizona and Washington, but Sheridan was always their home, so early in 1980, they returned to Sheridan to stay. They tried several houses in Sheridan before settling in their home on Pima Drive.
Laura was active in the Does Lodge, where she held several offices in her time there. Laura really loved to dance, so she and husband Ray spent a lot of time at the Elks dancing to the live bands, polka music being the favorite. The couple also played many games of KENO whenever their journeys took them in the vicinity of casinos. Trips to the mountains for camping, fishing ,with a little bit of hunting were a common occurrence.
After Ray passed, Laura stayed at the house on Pima Dive, where her very high independent streak became evident. Laura loved having visitors and really enjoyed her neighbors and friends who stopped by and would always be able to reminisce with stories of her life. Watching the deer, rabbits, birds and even the turkeys that visited her yard brought her happiness. The highlight of her week was getting her hair done every Friday and socializing with everyone there. Her Irish heritage and going to family reunions, where over 100 people were usually in attendance, was also important to her.
Laura is survived by her son Daniel in Wasilla, Alaska and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 with a Rosary at 9:30 am, and Mass starting at 10:00 am. Following the service, Internment will be in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

My heart is saddened by the passing of my most beloved aunt Laura. She came into my life when l was a boy. Her and Ray took me in at a troubling time in my life. That short time spent with them was a positive turning point in my life. Laura kept in touch with me faithfully through the years, never forgot my birthday. I turn 82 this month and will sorely miss our long-standing connection. She secured a special place in my heart. I love you aunt Laura l know you are happily reunited with uncle Ray. I know you are at peace with our savior and rest peaceful with Him. Ever your loving nephew Robby (BOB)
