Rubyjean Schock Hudson was born May 27, 1941, to Gottfied and Olga Schadler Schock, the youngest of eight children. She grew up in Turtle Lake, North Dakota, attended Turtle Lake schools, and graduated from Turtle Lake High School. Following graduation, she enrolled in the Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse.

Her years of working as an RN took her to many various medical facilities from Rugby, North Dakota to Seattle, Washington. While in Seattle, she met and married Robert Hudson. She continued to work as an RN until Bob’s death, at which time she moved to Sheridan, Wyoming to be near family.

In Sheridan, she continued to work until her retirement. Due to failing health she became a resident at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan where she died on Monday morning, September 30, 2024.

She is survived by one brother; Alfred and his wife, Suzan of Beulah, North Dakota, two sisters-in-law; Jan Schock of Turtle Lake, North Dakota and Erna Schock of Miles City, Montana.

Even though Rubyjean had no children of her own, she was blessed to be loved and cared for by her dear nephew, Adam Helvik, who faithfully saw to her every need.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert, her parents, five brothers; Albert, Walter, Rudy, Herbert, Reuben and one sister; Violet. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
