Marcia Powers

Marcia Lynn Powers passed away on January 2, 2024, at her home. Marcia was born November 30, 1939, to Leonard Masters and Margery Masters in Sheridan, Wyoming.

She attended Tongue River Schools, Ranchester-Dayton, where she was a senior honor student in 1957. She served as a class officer, Student Council, FHA, Pep Club President, Press Club, Business Manager, and assistant editor on the newspaper staff, Girls State, Girls Chorus, Girls Chorus Pianist, Class Play, Cheerleader, and Homecoming Queen.

Over the years Marcia was a member of the Ranchester Women’s Club, Wyoming Cattlewomen (formerly known as Sheridan County Cow-Belles, 4-H member, junior leader and leader, and Sheridan County DAR member.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Roy Lee Powers; her mother and father, Margery and Leonard Masters, and her brother, Dick.

She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Kramer of Ranchester; Kristi Petersen and husband Darrell Petersen of Riverton; grandson Austin Petersen and wife Abigail Petersen of Riverton; granddaughter Brandi Petersen and fiancé Adrian Sisneros of Casper; great-grandson Vaughn Petersen of Riverton. Nephews Marty Masters and wife Janet Masters of Dayton, Doug Masters and Stephanie Masters of Dayton. Great- nephew Brandon Masters and wife Amy Masters (Baron); …  John Masters and Lynnea Masters (Mae and Cole); Stephen Masters and Denise Masters (Kade and Charlie); Josh Masters and Molly Masters (Lester and Elaine); Jake Masters and Kristen Masters (Malcom). Great-nieces Becky Bockman and Dan Bockman (Brant and Anna); Jessica Andrews and Jeff Andrews (Hailey, Kolby, and Emery). A memorial service will occur at Champion Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 06, 2023, with Pastor Matt Tremain officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Juniper Heights section. In place of flowers memorial contributions in Marcia’s name may be made to Sheridan County 4-H, 1090 Dome Loop – Watt Ag Center, Sheridan, WY 82801.
