Robert Lee Hepp was born to Ralph and Florence Phillips Hepp in Buffalo on December 21, 1939. Robert grew up in Buffalo where he attended school and graduated Johnson County High School with the class of 1958. In high school, Robert was active in basketball and football. He even made the first basket in the newly made gym in Johnson County. He competed in bareback riding and team tying. After high school, he went to work for his father where he ran dozers and scrapers for his construction business building reservoirs in Johnson and surrounding counties. In 1966 he acquired a ranch in Barnum, Wyoming. Bob worked between Kaycee, Clearmont, and Buffalo as a cattle rancher while continuing to do dirt work here and there. Bob met Debbie Leis in 1978 and they were married in October of 1980. They continued to operate all three ranches while living in Buffalo to take care of Bob’s parents. They then moved to Barnum permanently in 1987 and built a family together of three children; Dennis, Stef, and Ethan. Bob enjoyed watching his cows, swathing the hay fields, and riding his motorbike. He followed his children through school, sports, and rodeo. In these last years, you could find Bob traveling solely in his side-by-side adventuring all over the ranch and county. He loved to see the ranch’s progress with the improvements his family was making. Bob was fortunate to reside his final years on his ranch with his grandchildren where he got to see them begin rodeo and sports. Bob is survived by ex-wife and good friend, Debbie Hepp of Kaycee, Wyoming; two sons, Dennis Hepp and his wife Kendel of Buffalo and Ethan Hepp and his wife Chelsea of Kaycee; one daughter Stefanie Garcia and her husband Roberto of Kaycee; and seven grandchildren Hadlie and Juaquin Garcia, Straus and Dallas Hepp and Camreigh, Scarlett, and Jaxson Hepp.
