Karen Jane (Timar) Streeter passed from this life on January 28, 2023, at her home in Carlin Nevada. Jane was born on July 27, 1948, to Louis and Mary Timar in Buffalo Wyoming. She spent her childhood years on the ranch homesteaded by her grandmother. She attended school in Buffalo and went on to earn her cosmetology license. Jane was married to Donald G. Scott in 1967 and they made their home in Gillette. To this union, they had a son, Donald L. Their marriage ended in divorce but they remained lifetime friends. Jane married Elgin Streeter of Sheridan on February 1, 1973. With Donnie, they enjoyed their lives while living in Wyoming, Colorado, California, Arizona, and Nevada. In Nevada, Jane welcomed to her family a daughter-in-law followed by two granddaughters and a great-grandson. They meant everything to her and spent as much time together as they could. Family vacations and camping trips resulted in treasured memories. Jane had a love for others and gatherings were commonplace in her home. She lovingly prepared delicious meals that called for second helpings. If you were family, you were loved and cherished. If you were a friend, you were family. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Louise, and brothers Tommy, Louis, Jimmy, and Milt. Inlaws Steve and Opal Streeter, sisters-in-law Jessie Timar, and Diane Streeter and brother in laws George Bingham and Eldon Streeter. She is survived by her husband Elgin, son Don and his wife Arla, granddaughters Heaven and Mary, great-grandson Memphis, sister Betty Carlock, sister-in-law Sharon Timar, brother-in-law Oliver Streeter, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She did not want a funeral but requested a gathering for everyone to celebrate with one another. We will honor that request at 11:30 on July 1st at the Hettinger Group Picnic Area. Lunch will be provided and we would be honored by your presence. Please bring a camp chair, a side dish if you wish, and join us in sharing memories.
