Donald Selig

Donald (Don) Selig, 84, of Yakima, WA passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Seattle, WA.  He was born to Stanley and Amelia (Wantulok) Selig on June 8, 1938, in Monarch, WY.  He is preceded in death by his twin brother Ron and brothers Ernie, Dale, and David Selig.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Lois Selig, and children Dan Selig, of Michigan and Dean and Jeanette Selig of Yakima.  Don is also survived by two grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren, siblings: Sharon Darnell of Sheridan and Terrill Selig, Tacoma, WA.

While on leave from the US Navy in 1959 Don met Lois and the couple settled in Yakima.  They raised quarter horses for many years and produced many champion barrel racers. They also developed a Beefalo herd.

He enjoyed football and was an avid Seahawks fan.  Talking about old times with family brought him much joy and he would often speak in Polish, which he learned from his grandmother, Nellie Selig who immigrated from Poland in 1911.  Memorial Services will be held on September 16, 2022, in Yakima at West Hills Memorial in West Valley, WA

    I am sorry for your loss. Don’s grandmother, Nellie Selig, was my dad’s grandmother. Don’s Aunt Mary was my grandmother. I will say an extra prayer for Cousin Don. Sincerely, Carol Arzy Webb
