After a short cancer fight, Julia Sims passed away July 9th at her daughter’s home in Sheridan, Wyoming. Julia was born on March 20th, 1940, to Keith and Thelma Kellner in Kimbal, NE. She met the love of her life Richard Sims and was married April 28th, 1956. The couple moved around Nebraska and Wyoming before settling in Lingle. Through their love of 65 years, they had five children (Dean, Patti, Coralea, Mark, and Tina), 12 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Hundreds of children were safely transported to and from school, as Julia drove a school bus for Goshen County School District for 46 years. She also touched the lives of many elderly adults through the home health care she provided. Her family will remember the many Sunday meals and get-togethers Julia hosted. She modeled kindness, caring, and passion for family.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents (Keith and Thelma), brother Jerry Kellner, brother Larry Kellner, and grandson Travis Sims. She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons Dean, Mark (Nyana); three daughters, Patti (Gene) Prickett, Coralea Kilgore, and Tina Bowlin, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and her sisters-in-law Ellen Kellner and Alice Kellner. Julia has been cremated and will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wy. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
