Our family is mourning the loss of Connie Warner Young.  Connie passed away, surrounded by immediate family on August 22, 2021, at the age of 65 after an extended illness.

Connie was born on December 13, 1955, in Austin, Texas, and grew up in what was then considered north Austin.  She attended Wooten Elementary School, Burnet Junior High, and graduated from Lanier High School in 1974.

Connie worked for two years for the State of Texas and 28 years in the Transportation Department of the Austin Independent School District.  She retired in 2006 at the age of 50, with 30 years of total service.  She is remembered by family, friends, and fellow workers as a happy-go-lucky, fun, strong-willed, honest, and generous person.  She still had many friends from AISD at the time of her death.  Until the pandemic hit, she would venture out to eat occasionally with her former colleagues.

Connie enjoyed traveling, but she never made it to Italy. That was the one place she dreamed about visiting, and she and her husband had discussed a trip until the current health crisis.  Her last two major trips were to Alaska and Hawaii with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Roland Warner.

Connie is survived by her husband, Keith; children, Cory (Gina) and Meghan; grandsons, Corbin and Grayson; siblings, Gary (Bren), Jaime (Dot), and Sherry.  She is also survived by aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.  Also mourning her passing are her three fur babies, Truman, Bismarck, and Pearl. Donations in Connie’s name may be made to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) or the United States Humane Society (HSUS).  A Graveside Service for Connie will be held at a future date at Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming.
