Jay Van Norwash

Jay Van Norwash, 65, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Jay grew up on the outskirts of Sheridan with acres of hills where he and his brother Steve would spend countless hours hiking, biking, and skiing. He attended Sheridan area schools before joining the Navy.
Jay loved spending time in the mountains where he would hike, camp, and go rock climbing. He was a multi-talented artist and was often painting, songwriting, singing, and playing his guitars. He enjoyed all genres of music. Jay had a natural aptitude for physics but his long-term illness prevented him from pursuing his dream of astronautical science. Jay could do anything he set his mind to but enjoyed repairing motorcycles the most.
Jay’s greatest loves were his family and pets. His love of animals led him to help many that were lost or injured as well as adopt several over the years.
Jay is preceded in death by his wonderful mother Loretta, his brother and best friend Steve, and his father John. He is survived by his sister Shirley and his sidekick Polly who dearly love and miss him. Until we meet again.
