Barbara Gilbert

A Celebration of Life for Barbara Gilbert, 77-year-old Kaycee resident who passed away Tuesday, will be held by her friends in Kaycee at a later date. Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Amie Holt Care Center in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo WY. Barbara Lee Gilbert was born on April 6, 1945, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Jack and Rose Bocott Allen. She grew up in Buffalo and graduated high school in 1963. Barbara worked at Amie Holt Care Center as a CNA when she met Marcos Ochoeto. They were married on January 3, 1976, in Buffalo Wyoming. The couple lived and worked for Karl Bergner on the M&M Ranch and the Piney Creek Ranch. They were divorced in August of 1990. Barbara moved to Buffalo, choosing to go back to work at the place she loved, Amie Holt Care Center.

Barbara married Vernon Gilbert on May 2, 1998, and the couple resided in Kaycee until Vernon passed away in December of 2016.

Barbara was an avid reader. She loved a good book. Barbara also enjoyed doing pencil artwork as well. Barbara retired in 2013 and continued to live in Kaycee.

Barbara is survived by a host of friends that meant the world to her. Interment for both Barbara and Vernon will take place later this summer.
