According to the SCLT, this video version of the tour will focus on how Big Goose Creek was an essential natural resource for the valley’s early inhabitants, into the settlement era and right up to today. Participants will learn about sites in Whitney Commons and a section of the Historic Downtown Sheridan area.

This Explore History program offers open conversation for community members to share their memories or historical information about these sites.

Explore History programs in Sheridan are held on the second Tuesday of the month at The HUB on Smith, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Hub invites attendees to join them for lunch after the program’s conclusion.

Explore History programs in Dayton are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Tongue River Valley Community Center, also beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Explore History programs are free and open to the public and have been made possible thanks to the generous support of The NextFifty Initiative.
