Pat BlairSheridan County School District 1 will go out for bids on projects for a parking lot and water line replacement at the Tongue River Learning Center – which is the old Tongue River Elementary School building in Ranchester.
District 1 trustees voted approval of the projects at their meeting earlier this week.
Jeremy Smith, who’s the school district’s business manager, said the parking lot project includes complete reconstruction of the front lot, including the entrance all the way to the turnaround. He said the water line to be replaced is a service line and belongs to the school district.
Plans for the project have been completed, and Smith said the project will be advertised early next month, with a bid opening on Feb. 20. A recommendation would be ready for trustees to consider at their March meeting.
In other action this week, trustees voted to accept an anonymous donation of $13,000 made to Big Horn Elementary School.
