Special Olympics Wyoming is searching for brave souls to raise funds for athletes and have fun this year during the Sheridan Jump.
The Sheridan Jump registration will begin at 10 a.m., March 5, at the Goose Valley Fire Department at 2617 Aero Loop. Jumping is scheduled to begin at noon.
Since 2005, The Jackalope Jump has challenged those Wyomingites brave enough at numerous locations around the state to be “Freezin’ for a Reason.” According to Special Olympics Wyoming it’s a great way for everyone – individuals, organizations and businesses – to get involved in supporting Special Olympics athletes. All funds raised go to support programming and events for over 1,600 athletes statewide.
The concept is simple: participants raise $100 and will take a refreshing dip into chilly water. The Jumps, according to Special Olympics Wyoming, are much more than that. The Jumps are organized to be fun and inspiring events. The organization is looking for people to grab some friends, plan some fun costumes, get pumped and register at www.sowy.org.
Participants raising $100 will earn a one-of-a-kind Jackalope Jump T-shirt and blanket. Individuals that raise $750 receive an additional embroidered fleece jacket. Awards to recognize the best costume, largest group, and most funds raised are given out with a chance to earn extra prizes.
