Rooted in Wyoming Announce Volunteer of the Year

Rooted in Wyoming announced that Harold Golden is the recipient of their Volunteer of the Year Award for 2021. A Master Gardener and dedicated Rooted in Wyoming volunteer, Golden was recognized for his contribution and commitment to volunteering at the Coffeen and Meadowlark Elementary Gardens, as well as building and installing new signage for six of the non-profit’s school and community gardens.
The annual award was created to recognize members of the community who demonstrate commitment, dedication, and exceptional volunteer services to build school and community gardens. During 2021, Golden volunteered over 100 hours at Rooted in Wyoming gardens and projects.
Rooted in Wyoming was formed in 2016 by a group of volunteers to promote better understanding of local foods, nutrition and sustainability in the community. RIW partners with community organizations and schools to facilitate outreach programs and cultivate educational gardens.
