Buffalo Mayor Discusses Budgets, Projects, Diversification

Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader is nearing the end of his first year in office, and he sat down with Sheridan Media to reflect on his accomplishments, and what he feels he needs to continue improving upon.
Mayor Schrader said last year’s budget sessions, his first, prepared him for the upcoming sessions later this spring, but decisions are never easy.
He said he and the council are expecting about the same amount of revenue to work with during this year’s budget session as last year, but time will tell.
Looking into this coming year, Schrader said he will be focusing on projects that have needed to be completed for a long time, and starting others that have been approved.
Schrader said finding businesses than can diversify the local economy while not making huge impacts on local services, infrastructure, and the community in general will be the key to helping to keep Buffalo vibrant.
