Ron RichterAn arraignment hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 38-year-old Joshua Stallman. At the hearing, Stallman pleaded not guilty to the charge of felony strangulation of a household member. Stallman was arrested and charged with the alleged crime for an incident that occurred on August 14 at a residence in Sheridan. District Court Judge John Fenn scheduled a three-day jury trial to begin on March 14 and set the date for a pretrial conference for February 10 at 9 am. If convicted, Stallman faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Also arraigned in District Court Thursday was 26-year-old Sean Bourke, who is charged with felony strangulation of a household member and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bourke pleaded not guilty to both of the alleged charges at the arraignment hearing. Fenn set a two-day #2 stack jury trial for March 14 and scheduled a pretrial conference for February 10 at 9:30 am. The strangulation charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Domestic battery is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six-months in jail and a fine of up to $750.
