With summer seasonal jobs ending and education related jobs starting up again, the unemployment rate for Wyoming, continues to trend downward.
The Research and Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for September 2021 in Wyoming was at 4.5%.
That’s down from 4.9% in August and below the national average of 4.8%.
September of 2020 the numbers for the state were at 5.7%.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in the Cowboy State for September 2021 at 1.8%, while Natrona had the highest rate at 3.7%.
Sheridan County checked in with a 2.5% unemployment rate for September 2021.
That’s down from 3.4% in August and down from 4.0% in September 2020.
Johnson County had a 2.2% unemployment rate for September 2021.
That’s down from 3.1% in August and down from 5.0% in September 2020.
The Department of Workforce Services adds that the number of nonfarm employment in the state was up by 1,900 jobs in September 2021, compared to September 2020.
