Because of COVID-19 protocol reasons, the University of Wyoming men’s basketball scrimmage that was to take place at the Golden Dome at Sheridan College on Saturday, October 2nd has been canceled.

According to the UW Athletic Department, due to cases within the program the first outreach event of the season will not take place out of an abundance of caution.

The Saturday, October 9th scrimmage in Cheyenne is still on.

The Cowboys return nine letter-winners and three starters from a team that led the Mountain West in points per game and three-pointers per game.

Wyoming finished the season with a 14-11 record in Coach Jeff Linder’s first season with the Brown and Gold.

Wyoming closed last season winning four of their last six games including taking San Diego State, who ranked No. 19 in the nation, to the wire in the quarterfinals of the MW Tournament.

The regular season for the Pokes begins on Wednesday, November 10th at home vs. Detroit-Mercy.
