Searchers have found the body of a Cheyenne climber in the area of Wyoming’s highest mountain.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office says searchers found the body of 41-year old Thor Hallingbye on Monday (August 16th).
He was reported missing Sunday morning, after apparently getting separated from his group near Gannett Peak on Saturday.
Gannett Peak is a 13,810-foot (4,210-meter) summit in western Wyoming’s Wind River Range.
Climbing the glacier-flanked mountain requires a multi-day hike and crossing sometimes treacherous snowpack.
Hallingbye was an anesthesiologist and pain specialist at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
The Sublette County Sheriff says more details will be released later.
