We may be in the dog days of summer, but this summer has gone to the dog…houses so to speak.
Outside of the Muddy Paw Prints Pet Supplies Store on the corner of 4th and Main Streets in Sheridan, are 3 dog houses that were designed by the Arete Design Group.
The dog houses are being raffled off and all proceeds from the raffle will go to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter.
Jessica Ross from Arete Design Group says the idea started last year with Project Playhouse, in which proceeds from that went to Sheridan’s Kidslife.
She says the group wanted to do something similar this year, and see who from within the group could claim bragging rights.
“We decided to have a little friendly competition and divide our office into 3 different teams and make it kind of fun and competitive and have a little bit of a design competition since we have so many different styles of architecture in our office, it’s fun to take those and put them into a real life thing and give back to the community in a very fun way.”

The winners will be drawn on Tuesday, July 20th, and announced the next day.
The winning doghouse design will be based off of which doghouse ends up getting the most number of tickets purchased for it.
