The Sheridan High School basketball teams were in action Friday night as they hosted Cheyenne Central.  The Lady Broncs couldn’t hang on to a 3rd quarter lead and only scored 3 points in the 4th quarter to lose to the Lady Indians 45-40.  The loss drops the Lady Broncs to 4-8 on the season. The Broncs continued their winning ways as they got 22 points from Sam Lecholat and 12 points from Sean Sanders to help the Broncs beat the Indians 55-46. With the win the Broncs improve to 11-1.  Both teams will play on the road this next weekend as they travel to play at Cheyenne South on Friday and at Laramie on Saturday

As for Saturday’s games, The Sheridan, Tongue River and Big Horn games were all cancelled on Saturday due the inclement weather.  The Arvada/Clearmont Panthers did host Midwest in a 1A North East Conference battle.  The Panthers got beat at the buzzer 60-59 while the Lady Panthers lost 45-36.

The Sheridan Bronc Swim Team was in Gillette this weekend for their conference championships. The Broncs won the 3-team Northeast Conference with 418 points. Thunder Basin was second with 278 points and Campbell County finished third with 67 points. The Broncs will now have a week off from competition to prepare for the Wyoming State Swimming and Diving Championships which will be held in Laramie on February 18-20.

The Sheridan High School Indoor Track Teams traveled to Gillette on Saturday for an 8 team state qualifier. The Lady Broncs won the meet with 139.50 points.  Jaylynn Morgan won the 1600 meter run and Alex Cameron won the shot put.  The Broncs also won their meet with 278 points winning 13 events.

The Sheridan High School Wrestling team was in Cheyenne over the weekend with 3 duels. The Broncs continued to dominate their opponents.  On Friday they defeated Cheyenne East 42-18 and Cheyenne Central 66-6.  On Saturday the Broncs beat Cheyenne South 78-4.  The wrestlers will travel to Gillette to dual Campbell County on Thursday and then will host Thunder Basin, Green River and Natrona on Friday.

The Sheridan Hawks NA3HL hockey team continued to dominate the Frontier Division over the weekend as they beat the Gillette Wild on Friday 6-4 and picked up another win on Saturday 7-2. The Hawks are now 27-1 on the season and have a 26 game winning streak.  With the wins over the weekend the Hawks have now clinched a playoff spot.  The Hawks are off this next weekend.

The Wyoming Cowboys dropped their second game in a row on Saturday as they lost at home to the Colorado State Rams 68-59.  The loss drops the Cowboys to 10-9 on the season.  The Cowgirls also dropped their game to the Lady Rams 68-65.  The loss drops the Cowgirls to 8-9 on the season.  The Cowboys will play 2 games at Utah State in Logan, Utah.  The first game will be played on Wednesday and the 2nd on Friday.  The Cowgirls will host Utah State on Thursday and Saturday.
