College trustees pay tribute to retiring members

Dr. Walt Tribley, trustees of the Northern Wyoming Community College District and chairs of the district’s advisory boards paid tribute at their meeting this week to two long-time trustees who are retiring from the board.

Dr. Tribley is president of the college district.

The retiring trustees are Walt Wragge and Bruce Hoffman.

Trustee Shelley Kinnison said she felt privileged to have served with both men. Other speakers among the trustees was Robert Leibrich.

Robert Palmer, chairman of the Gillette College advisory board:

Cindy Kremer, chair of the Johnson County advisory board, said it had been an absolute pleasure for her to know the trustees. She said as advisory board chair, she has really appreciated their guidance and their wealth of knowledge.

Wragge has been chairman of the board of trustees for the past year. Dr. Tribley said during his tenure on the Northern Wyoming college board, Wragge has also served as president of the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees and on the communications committee of the National Association of Community College Trustees.

Hoffman joined the board of trustees in 2001 after 35 years as a basketball coach, mentor and teacher. He has been recognized nationally for his work with student athletes and named to the National Junior College Athletic Association Basketball Hall of Fame, the Wyoming Coaches Hall of Fame, the Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame and the Sheridan College Hall of Fame.

The Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome was named in his honor.
