Pat BlairThe Wyoming Business Council is seeking applicants for an open public-at-large position on the council’s Broadband Advisory Council.
Applications will be accepted until Oct. 30.
The Broadband Advisory Council oversees the Wyoming Business Council’s efforts to expand broadband to the state’s most remote regions, coordinate funding and invite new technologies into the state economy to ensure access to fast, reliable internet statewide.
Council members are expected to attend regular quarterly meetings. Additional commitments may be required, according to a news release from the business council.
Also according to the release, members of the advisory council must represent geographic diversity and diverse interests, including backgrounds in economic development, state or local governments, technology-related businesses, health care, education, library services and public safety.
The business council is particularly interested in applicants with a rural Wyoming background.
Applicants will be reviewed for submission to the executive committee, which will review and interview candidates. The Wyoming Business Council will make the final selection.
