Big Horn High School will host the Northeast Regional Basketball Tournament next year.

Pete Kilbride, who’s superintendent of Sheridan County School District 1, which operates the schools in Big Horn, Ranchester and Dayton, said the event will be on Feb. 25-27.

He said the tournament dates do require a change to the district’s school calendar next year.

District 1 trustees approved a calendar change at their meeting earlier this month. There will be no school on Feb. 25, but school will be held on Nov. 20 – a Friday.

District 1 normally operates on a four-day week, Mondays through Thursdays. Kilbride said holding classes on Nov. 20 will allow the district to maintain a 148-day school schedule for the year.
