Council Approves Alcohol Delivery Ordinance on First Reading

The Sheridan City Council at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday night addressed an ordinance that would allow for the delivery of alcohol within the City. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Following a public hearing on ordinance 2223, which addresses the delivery of alcohol within City limits, the Council approved the ordinance on first reading. City Attorney Brendon Kerns says that the ordinance is very similar to the emergency ordinance that was adopted in late March due to the pandemic.
Kerns said that a few changes were made to the ordinance after last week’s study session at the request of the Council and Mayor Roger Miller.
The alcohol delivery ordinance must be approved two more times by the Council before it takes effect. The Council also approved a resolution allowing for the vacation of a portion of Brooks Street adjacent to the Sheridan County Courthouse. We’ll have more from the Council meeting for you in future stories.
