Addressing Fees in City Code
Ordinance 2301-26, addressing fees in City Code, was approved on first reading by the Sheridan City Council at their business meeting Monday night. City Clerk Ashlee Foster said that during the development of the City’s pending fiscal year 2027 Master Fee Schedule, staff identified numerous sections throughout City Code that reference fees using inconsistent language and approval methods and the proposed amendments are intended to improve consistency, clarity, and ease of future fee administration throughout City Code.
Foster said the proposed master fee schedule will be presented to Council at the June 22 study session and is anticipated to be brought forward for approval at the July 6 regular meeting. Foster added that ordinance 2301-26 is also scheduled for third and final reading at the July 6 regular meeting, which will allow the master fee schedule to be considered following approval of the associated code amendments to ensure consistency with adopted City Code.
