Sheridan Commission OK’s Smith RV Campground CUP on Split Vote

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have approved the Smith RV Campground Conditional Use Permit (CUP), after tabling it at their last meeting.

County Planner Mark Reid gave details on the application at this week’s meeting.

The applicant brought a draft agreement with a number of rules and regulations that users of the campground would need to follow during their stay, which Applicant Rick Smith said he would enforce, not the county.

The board, on a split vote, approved the CUP with the conditions recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission.

Conditions:

1. The use of the site shall be limited to Recreational Vehicles (RVs).

2. Any installation of future exterior lighting be first approved by the county.

3. Prior to further construction, a professionally engineered site drainage and traffic plan be submitted to the Public Works Department for approval.

4.If required, a new or updated small wastewater permit be submitted to the Public Works Department or WDEQ to abe approved.

5. If applicable, a new or updated access permit to Highway 340 be secured from WYDOT.

6. Any new signage be required to be reviewed and approved by the county.
