Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month

Uprising Executive Director Terri Markham read a proclamation at this week’s Sheridan City Council meeting proclaiming January as Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.

Following the proclamation, Markham talked about three types of human trafficking; non familial; familial; and online based trafficking.

Markham said the victims in this type of trafficking will often work circuits.
