No Injuries Reported In House Fire In Ranchester
Tongue River Fire District responded to a structure fire at 321 Coffeen Street in Ranchester in the early morning hours of January 21, 2026.
The incident was reported at approximately 2:56 a.m.
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke conditions.
The occupant and their pets safely evacuated the residence prior to fire department arrival.
There were no injuries reported.
Tongue River Fire District was assisted by Wyoming Regional EMS, Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Dayton Fire Department, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, and Ranchester Marshal.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all the responding agencies who assisted us this morning,” said Tongue River Fire District Chief Jeff Barron. “The coordination and professionalism demonstrated by our mutual aid partners is a testament to the strong relationships we’ve built across Sheridan County. Most importantly, I’m thankful the occupant and their pets escaped safely.”
Chief Barron encourages all residents to use this incident as a reminder to check and maintain smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.
“Working smoke detectors save lives. Test your detectors monthly, replace batteries at least once a year, and replace the units every ten years,” Barron added.
