A Sheridan man charged with multiple crimes was arraigned this week in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Between September 1 and September 5 of 2025, Cadence Norris allegedly forged another individual’s name and made unauthorized purchases using the account of Black Bear Construction at Farmer’s Coop in Sheridan. Norris, at a hearing Tuesday in District Court Norris pleaded not guilty to the charges of felony forgery and misdemeanor theft. No date for a trial or pretrial conference was set at the arraignment hearing, as District Court Judge Ben Kirven said that legal counsel would be receiving the dates for both in the coming days.
Felony forgery is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Misdemeanor theft is punishable by six months in jail and a fine of up to $750.
Also from the District Court docket: A sentencing hearing was held for Kolton Bagent. District Court Judge Darci Phillips accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached with the State and sentenced Bagent to 3 to 5 years in prison for the charge of felony theft, suspended in lieu of a 91-day split-sentence and three years of supervised probation. Bagent was given credit for 91 days served of presentence confinement and was ordered to pay $325 in court costs and fees and $750 to the State of Wyoming for public defender fees.
