Emergency crews in the Broadus, Montana area were busy over the weekend, when 2 separate vehicle collisions occurred in the same area.

According to the Broadus Volunteer Fire Department, sometime during the evening hours on Saturday, January 10th, there was a head-on collision between a pickup and a semi-truck on US Highway 212.

After separating the vehicles, rescue crews had to work more than 2 1⁄2 hours to get the pickup driver out, who was encased in the twisted metal of the wreckage.

The incident is under investigation.

Later while cleanup was underway, equipment used by a wrecking company was hit by another vehicle, whose driver ignored flaggers in the area.

The equipment was destroyed and no fatalities were reported.

A clear case of More highway patrol needed on our two lane highways.
Drivers Do Not follow any restrictions, weather conditions or Speed limits.
I know this because I drive Hwy14/16E in Sheridan County; and, have driven Hwy 212 in MT.

I’m originally from Broadus and when I travel to there, I usually take 14 and 59. I hardly ever travel 212 because of the heavy truck traffic and careless drivers.
