Several Sheridan County Schools Named Tops In The State At Their Level
A website company that analyzes public data, as well as reviews and survey results, has given high rankings to 10 Sheridan County Schools.
Niche.com has named Sagebrush, Highland Park, and Woodland Park in Sheridan, as the top 3 Elementary schools in Wyoming, and has also ranked Big Horn and Meadowlark at #5 and #6 and Coffeen #22.
Tongue River Elementary was ranked #32, Meadowlark Elementary in Buffalo was #35, and Kaycee Elementary #38.
In the Middle and Junior High School categories, Sheridan Junior High was ranked #1, Big Horn Middle was #8, Tongue River Middle #14 and Kaycee Middle #18.
For High Schools, Sheridan was #5, Big Horn #6, Tongue River #8 and Kaycee #18.
Ten Sleep was #1.
The website uses state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school rating and the overall quality of the school district as factors in its rankings.
About 164 Wyoming Public Elementary Schools were examined as well as 65 Public Middle and Junior High Schools and 78 Public High Schools.
School districts were also analyzed and Sheridan County School District #2 was named #1, and Sheridan County School District #1 was #4.
All rankings are for 2026.
