The “Sheridan Socialists” forced taxpayer money out of our pockets, in order to transfer it to private organizations.
That’s a blatant and clear violation of the Wyoming Constitution.
The “Shop Elsewhere” campaign will continue, until we can finally get rid of the Generally (mis)-Purposed Excess Tax.
And using kids as “sympathy props” was shameful.

I appreciate City councilman Patceg we’re standing up and representing the constituents and SHERIDAN and the respect he has for us and not spending our money on things such as nonprofits like these. That money that they are borrowing to give to nonprofits needs to go to the infrastructure of the city of SHERIDAN. Please don’t misunderstand we give a lot personally to nonprofits and so do many many other people, but that’s our money that we choose to spend not the peoples money. I feel nonprofits no that they are going into this as a nonprofit and they need to raise the money or get it from donations from the good people of SHERIDAN.

Voluntary donations take some effort. Getting forced-taxation dollars is easy. Just “ask” some politician and you get cash.
And of course, getting tax dollars on top of donations is just “free icing on top of the cake.”
Getting money based on Expressing a “need” is pure Marxism.
“From each according to ability, to each according to his NEED.”
America is in the process of restoring her principals….Sheridan needs to do the same.

When the infrastructure of the City of Sheridan is perfect, then, and only then, should funds be considered for non-profit.

      Exactly correct Mr. Capp.
And after people have experienced the true Joy of a lower 5% sales tax, they may realize the additional Joy of choosing for themselves which non-profits to personally give to.
Imagine the smiling faces of thousands of us walking into our favorite charities and willing giving them cash.
Lower taxes will produce more happy, giving people!
      Higher taxes hurt people.
Let’s lower the sales tax rate and spread more happiness in Sheridan!

The city council or any gov’t body should not act as the arbiter of which non-profits are “worthy” of getting our tax dollars. That’s our job. In America YOU get to decide which organizations or causes get your money.
Allowing the gov’t to become the “decider” for charity funding is a very bad idea. In fact it’s not only un-American and completely wrong, it also unconstitutional.
It’s the cradle-to-grave Nanny-State, the breeds weak People. It’s takes the money and decision-making out of your hands. We don’t elect “kindly dictators” to spend our money and make all our decisions for us. That’s socialism. And it’s failed everywhere it’s ever been tried.
    Let’s stop being lazy.
Let’s make our own decisions on who gets our money.
Let’s stop the theft of forced-taxation.
Let’s stop believing the Myth that “High Taxes are good for Us.” They are NOT.
Let’s stop the dependency of the welfare state and stand on our own two feet.
    Lower taxes are always better!

It is a nanny state by design Dennis. A one world government is not that far off in our future.

        Let’s hope not!
While authoritarianism may be the historical governing model for most of the world; I believe American’s will always choose Freedom.
Liberty is in our history, culture and maybe even our uniquely American DNA.
Lower taxes and less gov’t, give us all more Freedom.

This is exactly how it works under the boot of communism. The gov’t takes your money and they decide who gets it, not you.
Under our free market system, we fund the necessities with tax money and then allow folks the freedom to voluntarily donate to private organizations. We’ve socialized charitable giving in Sheridan County.
The last two elections on the two different one-percent Excess taxes have NEVER had a smaller majority (@ 58%) of voters who wanted to re-impose the Excess tax.
The tide is turning. The writing is on the wall.
Soon a majority of voters will know the Truth:
      Lower Taxes Are Better!
