Unemployment numbers in Wyoming decreased a little bit in February 2025, but the numbers in North-Central Wyoming decreased more than the rest of the Cowboy State.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 3.6% in January 2025 to 3.5% in February.

The rate was at 2.8% in February of last year.

The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February was at 4.1%, which is up from 4.0% in the previous month, and was at 3.9% in February 2024.

Sheridan County’s unemployment rate dropped from 4.4% in January to 3.9% in February, while Johnson County dropped from 4.0% to 3.4%.

Both counties were at 3.7% in February of last year.

The department says seasonal job gains start to occur in February, thus a drop in the unemployment rate tends to follow.

Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in February at 2.2%, while Big Horn County had the highest rate at 5.0%.

Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 4,800 jobs from February of last year to February of this year.
