Barrasso Visits Wyoming Troops in Middle East

U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) visited with members of the Wyoming Army National Guard’s 115th Field Artillery Brigade this week, including members of the 2-300th, deployed to the Middle East. According to information from Senator Barrasso’s Office, Wyoming has more than 100 service members serving with the 115th who are currently stationed in Jordan. They provide long-range precision fire support for conventional and special operations forces in Iraq, Jordan, and Syria. The service members stationed in Jordan are from 16 different communities across Wyoming.

Senator Barrasso said these soldiers, who are a long way from home, are on the front lines fighting terrorists and protecting our freedoms and they truly represent what it means to be from the Cowboy State and live the Cowboy Code each day. It was a privilege to spend time with them and tell them how proud everyone back home is of their service.

During his visit, Senator Barrasso shared a meal with the service members, toured the base and joint training center, held a town hall with the troops and received a briefing from military officials on the security situation and challenges in the Middle East.
