In spite of COVID-19, air service continues at Sheridan County Airport.

Airport Manager John Stopka said SkyWest Airlines is maintaining once-daily flights from Sheridan five days a week.

Stopka said the daily flights are on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He said Tuesdays and Sundays are kind of slow flight days anyway, so at this time, it just makes sense to discontinue flights on those two days.

And while commercial air flights have been somewhat curtailed at this time, Stopka said Sheridan County Airport remains open and busy in other ways.

Stopka said Big Horn Airways continues to fly, as well as private pilots. He said the COVID-19 hasn’t shut down the general aviation or corporate air traffic in Sheridan County.

In addition, he said, the numbers are slowly starting to come up for commercial air travel. But, he said, SkyWest will probably continue the current once-daily five days a week pattern through June.
