Wyoming Downs Rezone Approved

An ordinance to rezone property owned by Wyoming Downs at 927 Coffeen Avenue from B-1 to M-1 to allow for gambling on the premises was considered on third and final reading by the Sheridan City Council Tuesday night. City Planner Kelly Schroeder addressed the governing body prior to their vote on the ordinance.
Following a number of public comments in opposition to the rezone, the City Council approved third reading of the ordinance to rezone the property by a vote of 6 to 1. Councilman Andy Patceg was the lone no vote.
The City Council approved a resolution authorizing a request to increase a Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan by $6.25 million for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades Project. The Council also adopted a resolution authorizing the submission of a Mineral Royalty Grant application in the amount of $ 1 million for the Hub on Smith’s Parking Lot Project. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
