Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday said the climbing wall and bouldering wall are open for use.

Climbing walls offer the opportunity to learn more about the sport without having to travel to remote locations or purchase gear. The YMCA climbing wall is also located indoors within a controlled environment.

Colored handholds outline routes that start at a beginner level and an expert level. Both the bouldering wall and climbing wall at the Y are seasonally updated with new routes that keep the climbing experience fresh and exciting.

The activity strengthens the body and improves endurance. The more difficult challenges improve flexibility and enhance problem solving skills. The activity is also a great way to improve cardiovascular health and conquer fears under safe controlled conditions. Climbing’s demand for focus and attention also serves as stress relief.
