Aaron PalmerBuffalo City Councilman Scott Madsen, during this month’s Department Head Meeting, discussed a possible grant opportunity with the Department of Energy that may mean Buffalo’s electric turbine at its water treatment plant may be repaired after years of being down.
Madsen gave details on the grant at the meeting.
Mayor Shane Schrader, in a separate interview, said the city has not repaired the turbine because the return did not justify the cost.
Mayor Schrader said the city will look at the funding, when it becomes available, to see if the “benefit is worth the cost.”
