WG&F temporarily close Story Fish Hatchery for public safety

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has temporarily closed the Story Fish Hatchery in Story to public access due to the recent growth of the Elk Fire in Sheridan County.

Wyoming Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the temporary closure.

The hatchery facility and surrounding areas in Story are currently in the ‘ready’ evacuation status designated by Sheridan County officials.

Staff are currently maintaining duties at the facility.
