BPD Chief Addresses ‘Drag Strip’ Complaints

Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett, in his recent report to the city council, discussed a complaint posted on Facebook concerning a street in one Buffalo neighborhood that was being used as a “drag strip.”

He gave more details to the council.

Bissett said over the next few days, officers collected speeds from dozens of vehicles in that same area that averaged 22.53 m.p.h.

He asked the public that may have concerns to call him or the dispatch directly instead of posting on social media.

Bissett told the council he wanted to address the concerns raised in case any of them had heard the complaints and wanted to reiterate he and the department take them seriously.
