cvannoyFall Colors Along Clear Creek
On September 2, The Clearmont Historical Group announced that due to the recent fires, the Powder River Fall Colors Tour, which was planned for September 21, has been canceled for this year.
The CHG made this decision based on the safety of their visitors. They added that they hope to do the tour again next year.
The CHG added that the Natural History Exhibit has been extended through mid-September. This exhibit includes many fossils that were found in the Clear Creek Valley, such as a mammoth tooth, leaf fossils, petrified wood, and seashells, as well as fossils from many other areas of Wyoming.
“We are also fortunate to be showcasing some of the fossils excavated at the Buffalo quarry including allosaurus, pterodactyl, mammoth, and prehistoric horse fossils,” President Robert Prusak said. These are on display through the generosity of Sheridan College Foundation and Geologist Dave Nicolarsen.
Fall hours at the Clearmont Historical Center are Friday and Saturday from 10-3.
September Artist is Jennifer Golden will be displaying unique handmade items at the Center from Sept. 6 through Sept. 27.
