Located approximately one mile north of Guernsey, Wyo, the Pleasant Valley Fire started on July 30. Since that time a Wyoming Type 3 Team consisting of interagency personnel from local, state and federal agencies have been battling the blaze.
The fire reached approximately 28,984 acres in size. According to a Wyoming Type 3 Interagency Incident Management Team report, it is now 100% contained.
A crew of 40 personnel will remain onsite and continue to mop up and rehabilitate indirect fireline over the next few days.
The Pleasant Valley Fire began as two separate fires, the Haystack Fire – ignited due to lightning – and the Pleasant Valley which remains under investigation as to the cause.
