Filling the Gap
WyoMakers and the Wyoming Technology Coronavirus Coalition are attempting to help fill the gap of personal protective equipment, or PPE in Wyoming. City of Sheridan Community Development Director Wade Sanner said at Monday night’s City Council meeting, that the two groups had reached out to Brandi Harlow with the Wyoming Business Council about possible grant monies that could be used to help fund their effort of producing PPE for healthcare providers in Wyoming.
Wyoming Business Council Community Development Director Julie Kozlowski addressed the Council on the funding and said the Community Development Block Grant is one of the program’s that she manages in her division.
The “makers” have divided the state into five territories, northeast, northwest, southwest, central and southeast. The team leader for the northeast area is Spencer Kuzara with Phorge Makerspace in Sheridan. The Council is expected to consider a resolution supporting the effort and grant application at a special meeting Monday, April 27.
