Jo Co Sheriff Accepts SHSP Grant for Bullet-proof Film

During the recent county commission meeting, Johnson County Sheriff Rod Odenbach discussed a State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant he accepted to install ballistic film on windows in the judicial center and criminal justice center.

He gave more details to the commissioners.

Odenbach said they will prioritize which windows to take care of this year and which to do next year.

According to fema.gov, the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) provides funding to support the implementation of risk-driven, capabilities-based State Homeland Security Strategies to address capability targets.

Sheriff Odenbach also reported that he had accepted another SHSP grant for mobile and hand-held radios in the amount of roughly $55,000.
